METHODOLOGY

Monthly meetings of approximately 3 hours, through which women (and men) meet to converse about current political and social issues, forcing them to think of themselves as citizens who must take positions.
The conversation is facilitated by a guest (facilitator), an expert on the subject, who introduces the argument and provokes the questions from the assistants.
The methodology is flexible and allows active interaction between the public and the facilitator.

In 2017, 10 meetings were held on current issues and general interest for women: the communication, the importance of women in the process and implementation of peace agreement, women’s economic autonomy, self-care, violence against women, laws that protect women and public policies that favor them, among others.

The prevention, resolution of conflicts and consolidation of a stable and lasting peace also depend on the role that women play in the entire process. Their leadership and participation in the pursuit of equality are necessary and essential.

From a gender perspective, the leadership capacities of women are promoted so that, as subjects of law, they can generate and promote political, social, economic, creative and innovative proposals, to overcome and transform the conditions of exclusion and inequity.

It is a social event linked to the exercise of the human right to freedom of movement. In this section, it is reported the experience of the Corporación with its complexity, integrality and different impacts of human mobility on the people, their families and society who move.

Espacios de Mujer wants to contribute to improving the quality of life of women who exercise the prostitution in Medellín, in their private life, job and social presence. To be recognized as subjects of rights, they are supported in acquiring the tools to strengthen the enjoyment of their rights as women and in their job.
